About Me

I am a registered teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching across a broad range of curriculum areas up to Year 12, specialising in English and English Literary Studies. I have leadership experience in SACE, Student Pathways, Wellbeing and Inclusion at R-12 Area Schools giving me experience working with students from Foundation to Year 12.

As an educator and parent of children with learning difficulties including dyslexia and dysgraphia, I understand some of the challenges that young people can face through their education journey. I believe that every young person can improve and experience success if they are given the individualised support they need, at the pace they need it and this underpins the work I do with students.

I am trained in and use the Multisensory Playberry Dyslexia Program that is rooted in the Orton-Gillingham approach to provide structured, explicit learning sessions for students with dyslexia and dysgraphia. I also provide individual support with literacy across the breadth of the school curriculum for students up to Year 12, as well as support in developing executive functioning skills such as self regulation, organisation, working memory and motivation.

In my sessions, I aim to provide literacy support in a light-hearted, positive environment with a focus on building skills and promoting development of the whole child.
