About Me

I am a registered teacher and hold a Bachelor of Education (Middle/Secondary) and a Bachelor of Science as a double degree. I have participated in a wide range of professional learning opportunities to further develop my expertise including:

  • Thinking Maths (ACER)
  • Back to Front Maths (Tierney Kennedy)
  • Problem-based learning (ACER)
  • Restorative Practices (Kerrie Sellen)
  • LeadLearn (Matt Wadiewitz)
  • SACE Moderation

I have extensive experience teaching Mathematics across Years 6-10 in alignment with the Australian Curriculum, as well as General Mathematics – Stage 1 and Stage 2, and Essential Maths -Stage 1. I adopt a wide range of evidence-based, multi-sensory teaching methods to help support primary and secondary-aged students with specific needs in the area of Mathematics.

I am skilled at differentiating learning to meet the diverse needs of students. Using pre-testing and formative assessment, I identify gaps in their knowledge and understanding and use this information to plan and adapt the learning to suit individual learning needs.

I offer tailored and targeted support in the following areas:

  • Primary and secondary students with learning difficulties
  • Tutoring and providing additional academic support for students requiring assistance or extension
  • Students needing structured, targeted intervention
  • Students and families navigating SACE at Stage 1 and Stage 2
  • Families seeking guidance and collaborative support
  • Providing individualised support for students with a diverse range of learning needs such as dyslexia, auditory processing, autism, and ADHD

My focus is on helping young people develop confidence in their abilities as they transition toward adulthood. I strive to create a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment where students feel supported to take risks, make mistakes, recognise their challenges and grow as learners. My goal is to empower students to believe in themselves and develop the skills they need for life beyond school.
